iPhone Os 4 - Overview

Here is a quick overview of OS 4.0 for the iPhone. There are numberous new features included in the new iPhone operating system, which won’t hit the market for some time yet. “iPhone OS 4 is the fourth major release of the world’s most advanced mobile operating system,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “We’re delivering over 100 new features, including multitasking, folders, a unified inbox, deeper Enterprise support, and an iPhone version of our iBooks reader and online iBookstore.”

1. Multitasking - Finally, the iPhone can multitask. What does this mean? It means the iPHone can now run multiple apps in the background, and also allow apps running the background to still access resources like the internet or network connection. This is been the most awaited development in the iPhone OS since the iPhone came out. Not including multi-tasking has also been described as a major mistake with the launch of the iPad

2. Improved Mail - Apple is improving their built-in mail system. Some of the improvements include a unified mailbox, that allows users to access mail form multiple accounts in one place without having to switch between accounts on their phone. The iPhone will also support exchange accounts, including syncing with google calendars.

3. Bluetooth Keyboard Support - The iPhone now supports the use of an external bluetooth keyboard
